Synopsis & My Review:
Roxanne Stokes doesn’t believe in love. She
does, however, believe in the sexy-as-sin stranger who literally knocks her off
her feet in front of a nightclub. The chemistry sparking between them takes her
breath away, and she’ll do anything to ease the pain in his eyes…until she
realizes the handsome stranger is her best friend’s older brother who’s just
come home from war.
Ian Walser had no idea the gorgeous woman he
slept with the night of his homecoming party was his little sister’s best
friend – or that she’d be gone before the morning. Roxanne’s touch soothes him
in a way nothing else can, and he’s not ready to walk away from that yet. Not
when spending time with her gave Ian a glimpse of everything he’s ever wanted.
When his sister unwittingly pushes them together,
he sees his chance. But convincing a woman who doesn’t believe in love that she’s
his Mrs. Right might be harder than any mission Ian’s undertaken. Good thing
this soldier likes a challenge…

I feel like I should just start
off by saying this one thing… Katee Roberts can fucking write. Chasing Mrs. Right is the second book in
the Come Undone series, and while it’s not quite as good as Wrong Bed, Right Guy, it still tickled
my fancy. (Ugh. I don’t know why I used
that expression, but let’s just move on…)
Ian has just returned home from
his deployment, and unfortunately he brought his war nightmares back with him. He
can’t sleep through the night, he can’t stand crowds, he tenses when anyone
touches him; his PTSD has turned him into a completely different person.
Roxanne doesn’t date, and she certainly
doesn’t fall in love. Because when you fall in love you get hurt; plain and
simple. Instead, she focuses on her wedding planning business and tries to
steer clear of men. When Ian and Roxanne run into each other, literally, at the
club where Ian’s sister is throwing his welcome home party, there is instant
heat between them and while Roxanne has sworn off relationships, she isn’t
about to say no to a one-night stand with this sexy man. The only problem is
that she doesn’t realize her one-night stand happens to be her best friend’s
brother. Roxanne has every intention of running away from him, but what she
didn’t count on was his persistence to chase her.
Y’all – this is a sexy,
I-need-to-change-my-panties-type read. This book taught me that when I’m
reading a book that I know is going to be riddled with smokin’ hot sex scenes,
it’s always a good idea to have a
spare pair of panties…you know…just in case. One scene in particular not only
made me blush, but it was so scorching that I could feel my
heartbeat in my vagina. Yeah. Now that’s some serious shit. I refuse to ruin it
but just to give you a slight teaser; I’ll tell you that the scene involves a
car. The chemistry between Ian and Roxanne was palpable and I absolutely adored
them together. While there were some moments when Roxanne’s sheer resistance to
any sort of relationship grated on me a little, it never annoyed me to the
point where I disliked her. I loved how they both managed to be each other’s
calming force – her for his PTSD flare-ups, him for her aversion to any type of
relationship for fear of getting hurt again. They were each other’s yin and
yang, and that made my heart happy – even if their relationship wasn’t all
rainbows and candy-flavored penises. (Just
to avoid any confusion…there are no candy-flavored penises in this book. But I
have a pretty strong feeling that if that were a real thing, it would go
hand-in-hand with the gloriousness of rainbows.)
If you’ve read Wrong Bed, Right Guy I guarantee you’ll
love the second book in the Come Undone series. Now, while this is a series – Chasing Mrs. Right can be read as a
standalone or before WBRG. The
characters do overlap, but the main characters from the first book fade into
the background of this novel and allow Ian and Roxanne to steal the
spotlight…and your heart. (God, I’m so
cheesy sometimes). If you want a sexy, angst-driven read, read this book and read it NOW. But
seriously, take my advice and make sure you have an extra pair of panties on
hand…you know…just in case ;)

About the Author
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Katee Robert, learned to tell stories at her grandpa's knee. Her favorites then were the rather epic adventures of The Three Bears, but at age twelve she discovered romance novels and never looked back.
Though she dabbled in writing, life got in the way - as it often does - and spent a few years traveling, living in both Philadelphia and Germany. In between traveling and raising her two wee ones, she had the crazy idea that she'd like to write a book and try to get published.
Her first novel was an epic fantasy that, God willing, will never see the light of day. From there, she dabbled in YA and horror, before finally finding speculative romance. Because, really, who wouldn't want to write entire books about the smoking-hot relationships between two people?
She now spends her time - when not lost in Far Reach worlds - playing imaginary games with her wee ones, writing, ogling men, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.
